A Turlock house fire caused enough damage to displace a family of seven and see two residents and one firefighter treated for smoke inhalation, the Turlock Fire Department reported.
The fire was reported at 5:05 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1600 block of Joett Drive.
The first firefighters to arrive on scene found heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage and extending into the interior of the home.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. Seven occupants were displaced from the fire. Two occupants and one firefighter were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross is assisting with those displaced.
Through TFD’s resource sharing partners two additional engines, one quint and one battalion chief helped with the fire. Crews worked for an extended period of time conducting overhaul of the fire building.
