If you ask coach Louie Bettencourt about his Hilmar High boys soccer team’s 11-1 record in the Trans-Valley League, he might offer some denial.
“It should have been 12-0,” he said, jokingly.
But even so, his Yellowjackets dominated in 2010, as they now look forward to the postseason. It all came to a triumphant end on Tuesday afternoon, when Hilmar beat Escalon 6-3 in the season finale to finish 11-1 in the TVL that finalized the school’s first league title since 2007.
This season, Hilmar has been led by Jacob Behem (24 goals, 13 assists) and Alex Bettencourt (25 goals, 14 assists).
“They’ve all been impressive,” Louie Bettencourt said about his entire roster.
