Eagles softball rolls over Stone Ridge

The Turlock Christian varsity softball team has now boasted back-to-back league wins after beating Stone Ridge Christian on Friday, 16-5.

With less than two weeks left of action in the Central California Athletic Alliance, the TC Eagles were eager to get the wheels rolling and after the big win over Stone Ridge, the Eagles are tied with Big Valley Christian for third place at 5-3 each.

TC scored four in the first, two in the second and three in the third and by the end of the third the Eagles had taken an 11-4 lead.

After a shutout inning for the Eagles offense in the fourth, they resurrected their bats in the fifth and sixth as they tacked on seven runs to outscore the Knights 7-1 in the final two innings.

Cassie Balswick started the game for the Eagles and finished with 11 strikeouts and was 2-for-2 from the plate. Every player for the Eagles got at least one hit for the game.

After a week off due to Modesto City Schools going on spring break, the varsity baseball programs of Turlock and Pitman high schools were finally able to wash away the bitterness of tough doubleheader losses on March 21 by each securing wins on Monday.
