Turlock High placed fifth at Tuesday's Division I Sac-Joaquin Section South boys golf tournament, just outside of the qualifying mark of the top four for teams. Teo Chiesa and Hayden Sparks both qualified for the individual Masters as they both shot a 76 to place them in the fourth and fifth seed.

“I’m happy for the guys that are in; they put in the time and work and they are really looking forward to moving on. The season ends and it is tough; but for our group winning conference is great," said Turlock’s head coach Jason Boswell.

Chiesa and Sparks were also first team all leaguers this year.  They will move on to the Masters individual finals on Monday.

“They both have the ability to do what they want; they can do it, they come out ready to play,” Boswell said. “These guys have put the time and working on getting better. It shows how hard work can get you to be a first team all leaguer and moving on to the Masters.”
