The Central California Athletic League boys tennis singles tournament took place from Modesto Junior College on Tuesday, with Turlock and Pitman High both competing and hoping to come out on top.
Following a tough draw for Turlock’s three singles players, Pitman managed to advance only Adrian Rosero to the semifinals where he fell in a third set tiebreaker.
Brother Andrew Rosero advanced to the second round before he fell to top seeded Coby McCaig of Modesto.
Adrian managed to win his first match in straight sets before topping Brian Pham of Enochs in the quarterfinal round.
This launched him into the semis where he eventually fell.
All three of Turlock’s representatives were eliminated in the first round.
Pitman’s No. 3 player Royden Laia fell in the first round.
The CCAL Doubles Tournament is slated to take place from MJC at 9 a.m. Thursday.
