Wilburn was born in Oklahoma to George and Estelle Benefield.  He married Wilta (Neff) Benefield on April 11, 1970 and together they shared 45 years of marriage.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting and retired from Gallo Winery after 30 years in the wine industry.

Wilburn is survived by his wife Wilta Benefield of Turlock; son Brian Hatley; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son Salvador Puma.  

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 3:00-7:00p.m. Funeral will also be at Allen Mortuary on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10:00a.m. with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
