Twila Jean Wallen passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in Denair, CA following a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 79 years old.

Twila was born on May 5, 1944, to Everett and Willa Scott in Modesto, CA. She was raised in Hughson, CA where she graduated from Hughson High School. She also resided in the Denair, Turlock, and Gustine communities.

Twila met the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Wallen and they married on November 20, 1971, in Reno, NV.

Twila worked as a banker at Farmers and Merchants Bank for 16 years. She was also a talented seamstress and operated her own sewing business for nearly 40 years. In 1983, Twila gave her life to the Lord, and became an Apostolic Pentecostal. Through the years, she was a faithful member of Full Gospel Tabernacle, Turlock Christian Life Center, and Pentecostals of Riverbank Church. 

Twila was an active member of the church worship team and choir, Ladies Ministry, Seniors Ministry, and coordinated church fundraisers and annual dinners.

Twila was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Scott and Willa Mae Newberry; her husband of 48 years, Jerry W. Wallen; her brother, Ronald Scott; and grandson, Mathan S. Martin. 

She is survived by her children, Deborah G. Whitaker, Kimberly D. Whitaker, and Jared W. Wallen; daughter-in-law, Arleen D. Wallen; five grandchildren, Charles G. Plumlee, Brittany L. Roberts, Marcus A. Plumlee, Alexandria N. Wallen, and Cameron S. Wallen; and seven great grandchildren, Shaun Roberts, Andrew Plumlee, Liam Martin, Chase Plumlee, Avery Plumlee, Harper Plumlee, and Julia Plumlee.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA and laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.

Following the burial, a reception will be held at 12 p.m. at the Grand Oak, 1450 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA.
