Timothy Allen Nichols, age 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Jeanne Nichols of Turlock, California and grandsons Whitten Nash Splawn and Derrick Allen Monaghan.

Tim was born in Merced, California on August 24th, 1949. The first 40 years of his life were spent in Turlock, California and he then relocated to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1992 where he married his high school sweetheart, Julie. Tim and Julie enjoyed 31 years of a beautiful life together.

Tim lived a vivacious and adventurous life. He built and raced stock cars in his younger years. That transitioned to avidly following and attending Nascar races. He especially enjoyed his traditional trips to Talladega with family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, flying kites on the beach, boating, skiing, and travelling. But most importantly, he enjoyed being with his family and close friends.

Tim was a true and loyal friend. He was a jokester and the life of the party. He could fix anything. He was always willing and ready to help others.

He is survived by his wife Julie, his daughters Marla Sousa (David), Brenda Nichols, Amy Porter (Jay), and Holly Splawn (Wes), brothers Kevin Nichols (Maria), Dennis Nichols (Vickie), five grandchildren, and many beloved nephews and nieces.

A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 6th at Caruth Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Visitation is at 1:00 pm and funeral service at 2:00 pm.
