Scott Michael Beauchamp, 62, native of Turlock, died July 5th 2023, in an Oroville CA hospital.
He was born July 27, 1960, to Darrell and Liane Beauchamp in Turlock, CA. As a teenager, he loved traveling with his long-haul truck-driving father during summer school vacations and assisting him with moving families across the Western United States.
Scott attended Turlock High School and graduated in 1978.
He married Lisa Rizzo of Denair CA, and they had three children, Zachary, Paul, and Jacob. Sadly, newborn Zachary died shortly after birth.
Scott was honored to have served in US Navy combat operations aboard the battleship USS New Jersey. In December 1983, in combat operations off the coast of Beirut, Scott supported the USS New Jersey engaging hostile targets near Beirut. Scott traveled the world as part of his US Navy service, and upon arrival of his ship to the US, a photograph of Scott, his wife Lisa, and their son Paul appeared on the front page of the New York Times.
After retiring from the US Navy, Scott satisfied his wanderlust driving commercial trucks for several years, worked as a commercial painter and handyman, and started his own taxi business and shuttle service.
He is survived by the mother of his 2 children, Lisa (Beauchamp) Rizzo-Atterberry; sons Paul and Jacob; grand-daughter Natalia; mother Liane Roser; sister Lynne Hotchkiss; and brothers Brandon, Brian, and Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his father Darrell; and by his son, Zachary.
Scott will be buried on July 20th 2023 in a service to be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Rd, Santa Nella CA, at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held in Turlock after the service at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
