Russell Walston, 76, of Turlock, passed away at Dameron Hospital in Stockton, with his family by his side. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Allen Mortuary. A rosary will follow at 6 p.m.
Russ was born in Los Angelus to Vernal and Goldie Walston. As a child he moved from Los Angeles to Red Bluff, where he attended school. In 1951, he graduated from Red Bluff High. He worked for 40 years in the electronic industry. Russ was an avid outdoorsmen; he loved to hunt, fish and camp. Russ was a big sports fanatic. He was a Dodgers, Rams and Lakers fan. Russ was a loving father, grandfather and the most wonderful husband.
Russ is survived by his wife, Ligia Walston of Turlock; children, Terry Walston of San Jose, Ray Walston of Modesto, Kristi (Carl) Dunning of Washington Terrace, Utah, Chuck (Lorraine) Walston of San Jose, Caralynn Newman of San Jose, Giselle (Hector) Gutierrez-Alfaro, Oscar (Maritza) Alfaro and Jaime (Kristina) Alfaro, all of Turlock. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and sister, Lillie Mae Fulayter of Redding.
Russ was preceded in death by his son, Victor Walston; and siblings, Opal Walston, J.V. Walston, George Walston, Curtis Walston and Richard Walston.
