Roy Chance was born and raised in Enola, Ark. to Joseph and Nellie Chance.
Roy served in WW II, where he received a Purple Heart. Roy moved his family to California as a young man, where he became a member of the Machinist Union retiring after 30 years.
After retirement, he and his wife traveled the U.S.A. and most foreign countries. They enjoyed being active members at the Church of the Nazarene in Newberg, Ore. and Covenant Church in Hilmar, Calif.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Nina (Irv) Whalen of Stevinson, Calif.; son, Lee Chance of Tracy; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, six brothers and two sisters; also, his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly of Marshfield, Ore.
He was a very generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. We will miss him and love him always.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, April 2 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, CA 95125. Services are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. Please share your condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
