Rose Tomassetti passed away at age 88 on Dec. 27 at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock.
She was born and raised in Newman. She was a World War II Army veteran. She previously resided in Monterey, Sacramento and Turlock. She was a member of the Cabrillo Club in Monterey and she loved gardening, gambling, reading and listening to music.
Rose is survived by her two daughters, Colleen Cordeiro Barnett of Hilmar and Barbara Cordeiro Quinata of Sacramento; sisters, Mary Da Silva of Monterey and Ida Sunderman of Sacramento; brother, Ernest Medeiros of Prunedale; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Maria Medeiros of Newman; her husband, Albert Cordeiro; son, Gordon Cordeiro; and brothers, Richard, Joe, Henry, Carlos, John and Tony Medeiros.
A rosary/memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
