Mrs. Belo was born in Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge, Azores to Manuel and Maria Amaral.  She married Joao Nunes Belo in 1944.  She moved her family to the United States and came to Livingston in 1967.  She resided there until 1983, when she settled in Atwater.  Recently, she lived with her son, Emanuel and daughter-in-law, Sonia who cared for her the last years of her life.
She is survived by her children, Emanuel (Sonia) Belo of Atwater, Elmiro Belo of Escalon and Maria Belo of Atwater; her sister, Tina (Frank) Homen of Gustine; her sisters-in-law, Filusina Amaral of Santa Clara,  Maria Luisa Belo of Terceira and Maria Paulina Amaral of Sao Jorge; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind nephews and nieces who live in Gustine, Newman, Canada, Portugal and the Azores.
 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joao in 1959; and her son, John Belo in February 2010.
She was a member of Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church in Gustine.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. in Turlock.  A mass of Christian burial will be held at noon on Thursday, May 13 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Turlock.  Entombment will follow at the Sunset Mausoleum at Turlock Memorial Park.
