Robert Lewis Cooper, born December 15, 1931, in Turlock, California, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, at the age of 92. A lifelong resident of Turlock, Robert briefly left his hometown to serve in the Army Signal Corp, focusing on photography. After his service, he returned to Turlock, where he enjoyed 72 years of marriage with his loving wife, Sarah M. Wells.
Robert was a devoted father to Carolyn Smith, Kenneth Cooper, and Scott Cooper. His legacy continues through his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell L. Cooper and Edythe M. (Parker) Cooper.
Robert’s educational journey included graduating from high school, attending Modesto Junior College for a year, and further pursuing his passion for photography at Brooks School of Photography in Santa Barbara.
A private interment for family members will be held at Turlock Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The United Methodist Church, where friends and extended family are welcome to honor his memory.
