Pearl Anne Askew passed away peacefully in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on August 31, 2014.
She was born on December 16, 1917, in North Tonawanda, New York, to William J. and Anna M. Rosebrock. Following her high school graduation and her father’s death, Pearl and her mother rode the bus from New York to Los Angeles, California, where Pearl attended UCLA.
Pearl met Martin Askew on Catalina Island during a Labor Day vacation. They were married in San Francisco, California, on March 1, 1942.
Pearl was a graduate of Stanislaus State University, and was retired from teaching Foreign Language at Hilmar High School.
Survivors include daughter Susan (Bill) Worthington and grand-daughter Crinan (Rod) Huber of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and son William (Laurie) Askew of Malin, Oregon and grand-son Charles Askew of Fresno, California.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Beatrice and Adeline.
A memorial service is planned for September 12 at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Turlock, California, where Pearl was a member. The family wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Church at 640 Minaret Avenue, Turlock, California, 95380.
