Maria Santos Lucas, 92, died Oct. 6, 2009, at Turlock Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Turlock. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. A combined Rosary and Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Ave., Hilmar. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Maria was born in 1917, in Novato, Calif. She was a homemaker for 50 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar, S.P.R.S.I. of Hilmar, and Y.L.I. of Hilmar.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Barros Casada; husband, Carlos of Hilmar; brother, Manuel Coelho dos Santos of Raminho, Terceira, Azores; grandchild, Dan Barros and his wife, Teresa; and great grandchildren, Nolan and Stefan Barros.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service of Turlock.
