Lynda L. Lowery passed away peacefully in Hughson, CA on August 11,2023. She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on July 13, 1939.
Lynda spent her early childhood on the family farm in Iowa until her teenage years when her family moved to Southern California. She graduated from Compton High School in 1957 an attended Compton Community College. Eventually she became employed as a stenographer at North American Aviation and it was there that she met and soon married her husband, Bart. After a short engagement they were married in Compton, CA on February 26, 1961. They were married for 45 years until his passing in 2006.
A few years after they married Bart had a career change that brought them to Turlock. Lynda was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were both in school. In 1971 she took a position with the Turlock School District as a classroom aide at Cunningham School. Eventually she moved to an administrative secretary position at Julien School where she worked for many years. In 1998 she was offered the position of administrative secretary to the principal at the opening of Dennis Earl Elementary school. She took immense pride in being involved in establishing the foundation of a new school. Over the years she formed many friendships with both colleagues and students that she cherished greatly. In 2001, after 30 years of service, she retired to spend more time with her grandchildren, Brooklyn, and Chase. They were her greatest joy in life, and she loved them unconditionally, as she did all her family.
Lynda enjoyed shopping and traveling. She and Bart visited many places with their friends over the years. She was also an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan and a Barry Manilow fanatic. She saw him in concert countless times and his music always made her smile.
