Lupe Angel, 57 of Winton passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, surrounded by family.

Lupe was born on August 29, 1967 to Jesus and Guadalupe in Aguililla, Michoacan Mexico.  When Lupe was a young boy the family moved to El Repairto.  As a child he loved to play outside hunting with his slingshot, always saying he was going to bring dinner home for mom to cook.  He loved to ride his mule Macho Chaco and enjoyed drinking milk straight from the cow as he helped his dad milk every morning.  Lupe along with his family moved to the Central Valley in 1976.

In 1978, the Angel Family moved to Mapes Ranch in Modesto.  While living at Mapes Ranch Lupe learned first hand that hard work was the foundation of great accomplishments in life.  Lupe worked side by side with his dad and brothers daily at the ranch.  Eventually catching on to his dad work ethic.  He continued the Angel legacy by passing those same ideologies to his boys as well as nieces and nephews.

Lupe attended Hart Ransom and graduated from Modesto High, class of 1985.  While he was a student at Modesto High Lupe played football, excelling as a middle linebacker.  He had a knack for delivering a great hit.  As a wrestler he would knock out his opponents as opposed to just wrestling for registered points.   Lupe mastered the art of wrestling at school but would always seek out opponents with his boys, nephews, and even friends.  Lupe also enjoyed arm wrestling, never backing down from a challenge for a beer and or just fun.

In 1994 he met the love of his life Barb.  They were married in 1999.  Angel Farms began in 2001 when purchasing land in Winton.  Built from the ground up while living in an 18ft 5th wheel on 20 acres.  Over the years that 20 acres turned into nearly 300 acres.  He started in the excavating business with his brother Jesse, which then evolved into Angels Lowbed.  Lupe eventually was able to buy his dream home in 2020, which became his forever home.

Lupe cherished family, also his love for his boys, Ryan and Alex, which was noticed in every conversation.  He was also so excited to become a grandfather (papa Lup) when Jaxx Angel arrived August  2024.

Lupe had a passion to work hard but also play hard and enjoyed life.  His hobbies included riding quads in Pismo, trap shooting, fishing trips, golfing, and watching football.  He also enjoyed traveling, especially his Mexico vacations.  He enjoyed weekend getaways, dinners out with friends and family and parties at Angel Acres.

One thing about Lupe that will always ring true though cut short, he lived a very full life doing what he enjoyed.  Lupe will be remembered most for his contagious smile and his distinctive larger than life laugh.

Lupe was proceeded in death by his father Jesus, his mother Guadalupe, and his brother Jesse.  He is survived by his wife Barbara Angel, his 2 sons  Ryan (Morgan) and Alex Angel, as well as his grandsons Johnny and Jaxx.  His brothers Joseph (Leti), Isaac (Cruz), and Tony (Norma), nieces and nephews, Diane (Arnaldo) Gomez, Nadine (Jose) Castillo, Jesse (Krystal), Andy (James) Oliver, Jody, Stephanie, Diego, Paola, Krystian, and Yulianna Angel.

A funeral Mass will  be held February 7th, at 10 AM, at St Judes Catholic Church, in Ceres CA.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Old Fishermans Club in Modesto immediately after Mass.

He will be forever in our hearts and missed by so many, until we meet again.
