Lewis “Butch” Donald Huffman passed away on Oct. 5, 2010 at his home in Turlock at the age of 61.
He was born the son of Don and JoAnn Huffman on Jan. 10, 1949 in Pensacola, Fla. Lewis grew up in California from the age of 5. After graduating San Lorenzo High school in 1967, he worked as a brake operator and machinist for the better part of 40 years.
Lewis was a devoted husband of 14 years to Sue Taylor. He was a constant loving father to Shelly Huffman; an awesome Papa to Cecily, Zachary, Kameron, Johnny Sue and Jusin; a wonderful brother to Donna Jo Rypdahl, Buddy Huffman, Debbie Riegle and Bobby Huffman; a special uncle to Mark, Misha, Adrienn, Janna, Cody and Jamie; and doting owner of lovely dog named Lexie Lou.
We all will all hold him dear to our hearts and love him always. Many will remember Lewis for the one thing that never failed...his heart. He cared and provided all he could and never ever turned down the opportunity to care or provide some more. He will be remembered for his smile that warmed our hearts, his humor that lifted us all, and his comforting ways of welcoming everyone into his life. He will be remembered for his courage and fight for life. Lewis fought, with every fiber of his being to the very end. And lastly, Lewis will be remembered for the fun loving life he lived. The hearts of family and friends are very heavy as we mourn the passing of such a wonderful man and he will always be remembered that way. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
