Visitation will be held for Lela Fannon, 80, from noon to 7 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral will be held at noon on Sept. 11 at the Turlock Church of Christ, 801 North Tully Rd. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Jake, at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. She passed away Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Modesto.
Lela was born in Missouri to George and Jewel Conley on Sept. 13, 1928. She came to Livingston 77 years ago and attended Livingston schools. She moved to Turlock when she was 19 years old. She and Carl Brown were marred in 1956, and owned Brown Saddle Shop from 1963 to 1970. She married Jake Fannon in May of 1980. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Turlock, and the Turlock American Auxiliary Post #88. Lela’s favorite hobbies included creating various arts and crafts.
Lela is survived by two sons, David L. Raybourn of Modesto and Stephen L. Raybourn of Turlock; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Fannon; son, Norman Brown; and sister, Lois Jantz.
