Born in Tucson, AZ to Joe Bernardi and Cathie Hansen Bernardi. Kayla passed away with family close by her side. Kayla had spent months battling leukemia, and this final battle was more then she was able to overcome. Kayla spent twenty years teaching all of us how to live, love, laugh, and embrace life with more intensity then most of us are capable of. Kayla had many special friends, “sisters”, and family that encouraged her as she achieved milestone after milestone. We watched as Kayla learned to read, ride a bike, sing, and graduate from high school. Our “Busy Bee” was always active and always had people to see and things to do. Kayla’s favorite times were spent with family and friends on the lake, making ravioli, and all the holidays. She was so proud of her brothers and loved to watch them play water polo.
She is survived by her parents, Joe and Cathie Hansen Bernardi, brothers Jared and Dylan, Grandparents, Dan and Gloria Hansen, and Al Bernardi, and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She is predeceased by her Grandmother Esther Bernardi, Step-Grandmother Joanie Durniat Bernardi, Uncle Tom Bernardi, and others that are rejoicing and sharing with Kayla in Heaven now.
