Johnny DeWayne Maines

Johnny Maines, 53, of Turlock, was born in Watsonville, Calif. to Eugene and Martha Maines. The family moved to Turlock early in Johnny’s life. He attended Turlock Schools and graduated from Turlock High School in 1975.
Johnny got an early start, working construction from the time he was 16. He was a Master Carpenter, but he was able to do any phase of construction from beginning to the finishing touches. He loved people and was known for his long hair, his mustache, and for his big smile. He enjoyed camping, cruising, riding dirt bikes, and going to concerts. He will be greatly missed.
Johnny is survived by his three sons: Craig (Mattie) Maines of Ceres, Jeremy (Jennifer) Maines of North Pole, Ala., and Benny Maines of Turlock, three grandchildren, and a sister, Debbie Maines of Turlock, a brother, Keith Maines, of Turlock, and a sister, Linda Maines, of Hilmar. He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Martha Maines and two brothers, Ronnie and Russel.
A Memorial Service to honor Johnny is scheduled for First Southern Baptist Church of Ceres, 2813 Don Pedro Road in Ceres on Friday, February 19th at 4 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Dick’s Bar & Grill located at West Main Street and Crows Landing on Saturday at 7 p.m.
