Jeanette I. (Breazeale) Zurilgen passed away at the Hospice House in Hughson after a brief illness. Jeanette was a Modesto native and lived here most of her life. She attended Modesto High School until she married her husband, Albert Zurilgen, and they moved to San Jose. They moved back to Modesto in 1980. She was widowed in 1986, after 30 years of marriage to her husband Bert. She worked for a time at Lee Brothers Stationery in Turlock after being widowed. She tried marriage once again to Theron Gilbert, who also left her a widow after four years of marriage.
Her life was one without children of her own, so she doted on her nephews and niece. She was a lover of small dogs and of cats and always had a pet. Her hobbies were reading, she was an avid user of the library, knitting and keeping in touch with friends and family.
There was nothing average about Jeanette. If she loved you, it was unconditionally. If she hated you, it was unconditionally. We were always lucky that we had her love in our lives.
She is missed by her brother, Jimmie (Janet) Breazeale; and sisters, Peggy (Richard) Gardiner and Janice (Cliff) Simmons.
Remembrances in Jeanette's name may be sent to the Modesto Friends of the Library-The Little Shop, P.O. Box 7933, Modesto, CA 95357.
