Jimmy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on January 14, 2025 in Green River, Utah. He was 87 years old. Born May 14, 1937 in Iowa to William and Opal Rorabaugh. Jim had 2 brothers- Charles Rorabaugh and Roy Rorabaugh and 2 sisters- Mabel Applegate and Edna Kincaid-Ramer. He was the last surviving member of his birth family.
November 23, 1957 he married the love of his life, De Lois Stroud and they had 3 daughters, Cheryl (Fred) Zumstein, Wendy (Craig) Lechleiter and Dianne (John) Krummen. They have 4 grandchildren, Renae (Emily) Estrada, Chad (Whitney) Zumstein, Chelsea (Nick) Sylvester and Justin (Trezia) Krummen. They have 7 great grandchildren.
Jim enlisted in the US Navy in 1956 and served for 4 years active duty and 2 years reserve. Where he learned the Industrial Electrical Trade. He worked for multiple businesses at this trade. The longest being Gallo Winery in Modesto. He was very good at fixing almost anything. He learned to work on cars at his Dad’s Auto Repair business in Waterford, CA. But he was able to find a solution and fix most small engines, appliances, etc. He was quite a talker and a bit ornery. I’m sure if you knew him- he gave you a hard time or played a practical joke on you. He lived life his way- very quiet for the most part.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. Just think of him fondly and remember a funny story. The family would love to read them so please go to Legacy.com and enter them.
