Jake”Bud” Elzenga unexpectedly passed away on May 20, 2023 at the age of 72.
Born in Turlock on Dec.4, 1950, he was the youngest son of Jake and Agnes Elzenga. He grew up helping on their dairy.
Upon graduation from Turlock High School he worked for Thompson Chevrolet in Patterson. He then managed the gas station in Mt. View at the corner of Crows Landing Road and West Main for many years.
He resided in the Mt. View area all his life, farming for awhile. He is survived by a brother, Tom, Oregon; three sisters: Dolores Roller, Indiana, Marilyn Puls, Colorado, and Joanne Bettencourt of California.
Six nephews: Darren and Scott Roller, Indiana, and Todd Roller, Virginia; Mike and Steve Gilmore and Andy Bettencourt, California. Six nieces: Amanda Stallings and Leslie Roche, California, Ann King, Colorado, Delynn Hammell, Virginia, Jennifer, Washington, and Susan, Idaho.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
