Hilda Bourang, a resident of Turlock, California, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 21, 1939 in Iran and raised in Gogtapeh, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and tradition.

Hilda graduated from high school and came to New Jersey in 1968 before settling in California. She was a devoted member of the Assyrian Church of the East and found great joy in crocheting, knitting, and reading the Bible. Her quiet strength and dedication to her faith were an inspiration to those who knew and loved her.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Poles Bourang and Gerosha Chalabi Bourang; her sister, Nanajan Golani; her brothers, Homer (Margaret) Bourang and Isaac (Loretta) Bourang; and her niece, Atouria David. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Charles and her many nieces and nephews: Atour, Victor, Henry, Shamiran, Sargon, Julliette, Shamerin, Helen, Sherli, Tony, and Paul.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Turlock Funeral Home. Hilda’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
