Francisco Coelho Costa, 87, of Turlock, died June 11 in Turlock. He was born in June 1923 in Altares, Terceira, Azores. He worked in the dairy and food processing industry and was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock. He enjoyed gardening and vacationing in the Azores.

He is survived by his sons, Carlos Costa  (Teresinha), Jose Costa (Fatima), Elmano Costa (Albertina) of Turlock and Manuel Costa (Doug) of Modesto; sister, Noemia Couto of Turlock; and grandchildren,  Isabel Crawford, Connie Cole, David Costa, Bernadete Costa, Sara Costa, Lucia Silva, Luis Costa, Samuel Costa, Paulo Costa and Daniel Costa; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Guilhermina Costa on Jan. 28, 2000.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. Rosary/Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, June 17. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Ave., Turlock and officiated by Father Manuel Sousa. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
