There will be a celebration of life for Frances Kirihara, 89, of Livingston, at 11 a.m. on Sept. 12 at Livingston United Methodist Church. She passed away at home with family at her side.
Frances was born in Turlock to Zen and Ei Yuge in 1920. She was raised in the Cressey/Ballico area. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UCSF. She was married to James Kirihara for over 60 years. Frances worked for the Merced County Department of Education as a school nurse. Later, she returned to school and received a master’s degree in Public Health. She was a member of the Livingston United Methodist Church, JACL, and League of Women Voters. Frances enjoyed traveling and volunteering for many organizations.
She is survived by her husband, James Kirihara. She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Kirihara; and siblings, Ray Yuge, George Yuge and Yuri Yuge. Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com.
