Frances Pirtle, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving
family on Thursday, August 29, 2009 at St. Frances Assisted Care in
Turlock, California. She was born in Missouri, to the late Thomas and Edna
Scott.  She came to Stockton, California in 1937 and then during World War
II she lived in Fairfield. She lived in Denair for 36 years before moving
to Oroville in 1977. Frances settled in Turlock 4 years ago.  After she was
employed with Armors for 17 years she was a grocery clerk in Denair for 10
years. Frances belonged to the Yankee Hill Grange, Ladies Club of Oroville,
and the Turlock Steppin Pards for 25 years. She enjoyed square dancing,
knitting, and crocheting.
Frances is survived by her children Lorene Norton of Turlock, Deloris
Fagundes of Turlock, Larry Pirtle of Hawaii, and Tom Pirtle of Oroville.
She also is survived by 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 25
great-great grandchildren with 4 on the way.
