Frances “Fran” Hirdes passed away peacefully on Friday in Turlock. She was born in Farmersville to Joseph and Mary Riberio in 1928. She was the second of six children: Mary, Fran Ellie, Lee, Joe and Tony. The family later moved to Ceres. Fran attended Ceres High School and graduated in 1947. In 1949, she married Les Hirdes. Together they worked hard in the farming and dairy business for over 40 years. They were married 50 years when Les passed away in 1999; a daughter Leslie preceded Fran in death in 2008. She enjoyed line dancing, rodeos and roping. She timed for the CTRA for over 25 years. She loved family gatherings. Her family was her life. While ill, she joyfully attended three grandchildren’s weddings. Fran’s beautiful loving spirit will always be in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Bel Air Lodge for the loving care.
She is survived by her son, Ed (Marilyn) Hirdes; grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon), Grant (Jami), Kent (Haley), Blake, Case, Kim (Kenny), and Katie (Jon); and great grandchildren, Shayla, Colten and Dylan, and Reese.
