Eleanor Marie Ferreira passed away peacefully, at her home, on March 6, 2025 at the age of 90. She lived a life full of generosity, compassion, love and dedication to her family.

Eleanor was born in Patterson, California on December 14, 1934, to Joseph and Margaret Homen. She grew up in a very close and loving home, with six siblings, where she was raised to appreciate the importance of family. Eleanor graduated from Patterson High School in 1952. That same year, she married the love of her life.

Eleanor married Anthony Raymond Ferreira, on November 2, 1952. After marrying, she moved to Turlock, California, to live with Anthony on his ranch and dairy. They had the most wonderful life together and were very content working hard and making countless memories there. They were blessed with over 35 wonderful years together. After Anthony passed away, she moved into the city of Turlock, in the house that Anthony built for them to retire in. Although the transition was difficult without him, she was determined and remained in that home for the rest of her life.

Taking family vacations and getting together with family on holidays and weekends was her biggest joy. She enjoyed being with her sisters and brother, nieces and nephews, and playing cards, board games and visiting with each other. They cooked and baked together often. She especially loved attending her nieces and nephews sporting events when she could. Simply, she cherished her time with family.

Eleanor was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock. She was an active member of P.F.S.A., formerly known as S.E.S., where she held the office of Secretary for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Turlock Pentecost, Young Ladies Institute, Cabrillo Club, ISMM Square Circle, S.P.R.S.I. and Luso-American. In these roles, her generosity was limitless. Throughout her lifetime, she remained a very kind and generous person, and helping others, in any way, was her special gift to everyone around her.

Eleanor is survived by her sister Dolores Souza of Newman, California, her brother Henry Homen (Carol) of Hughson, California, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony, sisters Bel Lopes, Evelyn Dixon, Madeline Homen, Margaret Phillips, and nephews Mark Ferreira and Kenny Dixon.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 24 from 5pm-8pm at Turlock Funeral Home, located at 425 N. Soderquist, Turlock. A recitation of the Rosary will be at 6pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 10am, located at All Saints Catholic Church, 4040 McKenna Drive, Turlock. Interment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
