Derek Petersen, 31, passed into the arms of God on Sept. 30 after a short battle with cancer. He was a resident of Stockton, graduate of Lincoln High School and CSU Stanislaus, and a member of First Baptist Church, Stockton.
Preceded in death by his grandfather, Oren Petersen of Turlock; and uncles, Rick Petersen and Bobby Petersen; he is survived by his parents, Keith and Donna Petersen of Stockton; sister, Jamie Stavenger (Chris) of Duluth, Minn.; grandmother, Lady Laudine McBeath and her husband, Cliff, of Turlock; grandparents, Charles and Adavern Pullen of Tucson, Ariz.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece on the way.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service to be held at noon on Oct. 10 at First Baptist Church, 3535 N. El Dorado, Stockton, 95204 (466-4368) with a reception following.
