In loving memory of Dennis Lee Lewallen, 71 years of age.  He served in the US Army from 1965-69, in the 7th infantry division during the Vietnam war and was awarded a Marksmanship medal.  He was a truck driver for over 54 years and earned the California Truck Driver of the Year award for over 3 million miles accident free.  He was currently working for G&G Trucking in Turlock; he loved his job.  Dennis never knew a stranger and everyone that met him loved him.  His personality accompanied by his smile was a blessing to everyone.  He loved hunting and going to the shooting range with his grandson Adam who he adored.  Dennis loved riding his Harley with his wife Sarah.  He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching sports.  He used to take Adam trucking for weeks on end when Adam was only two years old.  He taught him to drive, roll up tarps, and started him on a salary of five dollars a day.  Dennis and Adam were best friends and could always count on one another.  Dennis was his daughter Richelle’s confidant, daddy and friend.  He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sarah of 35 years.  They shared a strong and good relationship and were best friends, ‘A match made in heaven’.  Dennis also leaves behind his daughter Richelle Lee Lewallen; son Vincent Lewallen; two sisters Colleen (Don) Donaldson, Sandy (Les) Hazel; grandsons Adam Lewallen and Clayton Lewallen; granddaughter Porscha Lewallen; two great  grandchildren Jordan and Hailey Lewallen; sister in laws Becky Lloyd and Priscilla (Tom) McCright; father in law Douglas Perdue; fourteen nephews and nieces and his devoted dog Samson. 

Dennis is preceded in death by his daughter Dawn Lewallen; brother Larry Lewallen and parents Linwood and Emma Lewallen.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00a.m. at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church 341 Claratina Ave., in Modesto, CA.  Please share on your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.
