Denise went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2017 due to complications from cancer.  Denise was 47 years young.  She was born in Turlock and spent most of her life in the Denair/Turlock area.  Turlock was her permanent home with her husband, children and their two dogs, Katie and Rocco, whom she adored and loved.  Her favorite activities included camping and boating with her extended family. 

Denise was a valued employee at Golden State Mixing/American Calf Products for 6 years and previously Stanislaus Food Products for 16 years.  She was a loving and giving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She gave her whole heart to her family, friends and jobs.  Denise was loved and respected by all who were blessed to be in her life.  She touched all our lives in a wonderfully positive way.  Denise was so proud of her husband and children.  She loved the color purple, Mexican food, scary movies, reading and “Criminal Minds”.  Her house was open to all her children’s friends and she loved having them come over and hang out.  They all loved her and thought of her as “Mom”.  She also loved watching her daughter play softball.  Denise was spunky, feisty, and independent and stood up for what she thought was right.  She was caring, compassionate, trustworthy and loyal to all her family and friends.  She will be missed by many.

Denise leaves behind her husband Louie Lara; children Lewis Lara and Lynnae Lara; mother Sharyn Hedberg; siblings Jeff (Corlena) Haile and Kim (Brian) Martin; aunts and uncles Mike McDaniel, Robin McDaniel, Dick (Pam) Haile, Nancy (Lamar) Pope, Ron (Judy) Haile, Mike (Linda) Choate, and Bobbie Edgar; numerous cousins including Travis (Charlotte) Edgerton and Kiah (Ed) Applegate; nieces and nephews Liam and Paige Martin, and Nick and Angelina Polegato; sisters and brothers-in-law Terri Verduzco, Stella Carreon, Cynthia Jackson and Ronnie Jackson; stepdaughter Letticia Lara; mother-in-law Connie Arreguin; special friends Renee Fantazia, Taylor Simmons, Flora Shamoon and Kristina Barrian.

Denise was preceded in death by her father William Haile; stepmother Pam Haile; grandparents Melba McDaniel, Tom and Gloria McDaniel, Merval and Ella Belle Haile; aunt and uncle Bobbie and Marland Jones; cousins Shawna Edgar and Menese Choate.

A celebration of Denise’s life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00p.m. at Allen Mortuary, 247 N Broadway, Turlock, CA.  Interment will take place at a later date at Lakewood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been set up for Denise’s children at Farmers & Merchants Bank.  Any checks should be made out to Sharyn Hedberg FBO Lewis Lara & Lynnae Lara.  Contributions can be made at any F & M Bank, or mailed to F & M Bank, 121 S.
