Delores was born July 25, 1932, in Los Banos, CA to John and Leonora Leonardo. 

Delores grew up in the Central Valley and spent many years in Arizona raising her family.

She spent the last 37 years living with her husband Roger in what she called “The Center of the Universe” - Turlock, CA. 

She was very proud of their family business, Kirkes Electric, where she and Roger worked side by side.

Delores was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger Kirkes; her parents, John and Leonora Leonardo; and her siblings, John and Tilva. 

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Silva; and four sons, Darryl Silva (Vickie), Kyle Kirkes (April), Greg Kirkes (Sarah), and Brad Kirkes. Together, she and Roger have 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Delores and Roger shared a loving marriage of 37 years. Theirs was a love beyond measure. 

Everyone who knew them had the privilege of witnessing a beautiful love affair. 

Other loves of Delores were Jesus, the beach, gardening, reading, and quality time with her beautiful family. Long drives enjoying each other and God’s beautiful world was a favorite pastime for her and Roger.

Her friends and family would say that she was a great listener, a wonderful encourager, made friends with everyone she met, and that she loved Jesus and her family beyond measure.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospital in Sacramento or Salvation Army.

A visitation is being held at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in the Main Chapel. 

A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Turlock Funeral Home with a reception to follow at The Grand Oak, 1450 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
