Darol Wayne Carlson, age 90, went to heaven on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side in his home in Los Angeles, CA.
Darol, a native of Turlock, CA, was born on May 30, 1927 to his parents, Gustaf L. Carlson and Selma Lundell Carlson. He attended Turlock High School and graduated in 1945- missing his graduation ceremony to serve in the United States Navy.
He and his wife, Betty Barmore Carlson raised four children, living in Modesto, Sacramento and Orange, CA. Betty died in 1998. He married his second wife, Rhonda Fleming in 2003.
Darol spent his career primarily in sales, working for Montgomery Ward, Coca-Cola Bottling Co, and Partake Franchises. In 1979, he became the owner and CEO of Chem-Mark International.
He was well-loved and known for his warmth, humor, kindness, and positive and generous spirit. He had a strong faith in Christ that was an integral part of his life and his character.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Betty and his son-in-law, Jay Jaeger. He is survived by his second wife, Rhonda Fleming of Los Angeles; his four children, Candis Lynn Voien (Howard), Cynthia Sue Jaeger, Jill Daren Lundstrom (Curtis) and Kevin Darol Carlson (Susan); and his stepson, Kent Lane.
He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Jacob, Carlee, Nathan, Emily, Jason, Sara-Britt, Blake, Daniel, Rusty, Cody, and Gustaf and nineteen great-grandchildren - with the twentieth on the way. His surviving siblings are Karin Swanson (Lynwood), Kristie Jones (Ted), and Dean Carlson.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A graveside service will be conducted at Turlock Memorial Park, immediately following the visitation, at 11 a.m.
