Services for Daisy Bell Blackburn Smith Saffeels, 92, of Modesto, have been held. Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park.
Daisy Belle Blackburn Smith Saffeels was born on May 22, 1917 in Woodlake, Calif. and died July 25 in Modesto. She was a resident of West Gate Village in Modesto and was a homemaker for 45 years.
She loved to fly and flew in most means of air transport, including a hot air balloon on her 80th birthday. Daisy loved to travel and experience new adventures. She and her husband, Paul, owned and operated the Ceres Family Billiard Center in the mid 1960s and early 1970s until their retirement to Turlock. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her loving, gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Saffeels. She was mother to Anne Evans of Modesto, Altha Budny of Spokane, Wash., William P. Saffeels of Schertz, Texas, Joseph C. Saffeels of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and Robert L. Saffeels of Landscheid, Germany. Daisy leaves behind many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
