Charles spent his early years on the island of Oahu, where he developed a lifelong passion for all things automotive. His career as a senior ASE Master Technician spanned 38 years at the City of Turlock, where he was respected for his expertise in handling heavy machinery and construction tasks. Charles began working on cars at the young age of 11 and carried this interest throughout his life, both professionally and personally. He married Colleen Ann Cordeiro on November 27, 1965, in Honolulu, and together they moved to Hilmar, California.

Charles is survived by his children, Charles Warren Barnett, Jr., Charmaine Rose Barnett, and Casey Kenneth Barnett; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Charles was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar and past (1980s) president of the Gustine S.E.S. Cabrillo Club. He cherished his time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing with them his love for racing and automotive pursuits. He was a member of a racing car club in Hawaii in his younger years. Charles’s hobbies also reflected his passion for cars, which remained a significant part of his life until his passing.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, followed by urn placement at Turlock Memorial Park. A small chapel reception at the funeral home will conclude the services.

Charles’s legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and enthusiasm for his interests will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew him.
