Carolyn was born in 1934 to Charles and Irma Vernia in Carlisle, Ind. Later the family moved to California, where she graduated from Bell High School in 1952. She was married to the late Earl "Bud" Stevens on June 27, 1953. Carolyn was a member of Monte Vista Chapel.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Bawcum of Stevinson, Dan Stevens of Idaho and Melody Eskola of Washington; siblings, Jerry Vernia of Oregon, Virginia Mann of Big River, Calif. and Ronald Vernia of Idaho; and grandchildren, Emma and JT. She was preceded in death by her husband and son David Stevens.
Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 1 at Allen Mortuary. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 1 at Monte Vista Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to
