Carol Ann Margaret (Evenson) Lundell went to be with her Lord and Savior with her loving family around her bedside on Sept. 1, 2009. She was born in Turlock to Rasmus and Victoria Evenson. She was raised on a dairy farm in Turlock. During her childhood, she attended Johnson Joint School and later graduated from Turlock High School, class of 1948. After graduation, she worked as an assistant librarian (1948-1953) at Turlock High School before accepting the position of assistant secretary (1953-1956), also at Turlock High School.
In 1954, she married Kenneth Lundell of Hughson. Kenneth was a peach and almond farmer and she enjoyed her role as a farmer’s wife. Even in her later years, one could still find her in the orchard during the peach harvest working alongside her beloved husband whom she was happily married to for 54 years. After her marriage, she continued working at Turlock High School until the birth of her first child, when she chose to be a full-time homemaker.
Carol Ann was a charter member of Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock, where she actively served in various capacities over the years. Carol Ann’s passion was serving God and others as was evident in how she lived her life.
She had the true gift of hospitality and loved entertaining many friends and family in her home. She has lovingly prepared hundreds of meals over the years and served countless cups of coffee along with an abundance of homemade cookies. Her love of God and family was reflected in everything she did throughout her life. She leaves a legacy for her children and grandchildren that will not be forgotten.
In addition to her church, Carol Ann was also active in Skandi-Fest and the Turlock Historical Society. Carol Ann was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
