Barbara Miranda, 77, of Turlock, passed away peacefully at Alexander Cohen Hospice House after an extended illness.
Barbara was born and raised in Gustine, California to Joe and Mary Souza, one of five children. In 1955 she married Tony C. Miranda. They had their family dairy known as BarTona Dairy, where they raised their four children. Other than the dairy she worked in the food production industry, helped the elderly, and she was an avid bowler, prior to her aneurism in 1980. Barbara was a member of a member of YLI in Hilmar and a member of the Turlock Pentecost Association where she and her husband Tony served as past president in 1972. Barbara’s recent enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony, a son Jonathan Miranda, three brothers: Joe, Frank, and Anthony Souza, and her aunt Rita Mattis, who was a great help to her while she was growing up. She is survived by three children: Deborah (Dan) Soares, Mike (Larine) Miranda, both of Turlock, and Mark (Stephanie) Miranda of Janesville, WI; a sister Mary Alice Castro of Grover Beach, CA, 6 grandchildren (Derek, Danielle, Manny, Anthony, Tyler, and Brooke, and 2 great-grandchildren (Makayla and Daniel).
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts to be considered for the new building fund at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8471 Cypress St, Hilmar, CA 95324. Rosary will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 26th, 11 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
