Anne Marie Boyd, 95, died April 16 at Covenant Village Care Center in Turlock. She was born April 19, 1915 in Missouri and moved to Long Beach as a young girl. She attended Woodbury College in
Los Angeles and was assigned to the Naval Air Station in San Diego where she served in the WAVES for three years.
After moving to Sacramento in 1947, she worked as a secretary and then as an administrative assistant to the State Director of Agriculture. She settled in Turlock 16 years ago. In Sacramento, Anne belonged to WAVES Women’s Group, and the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She also worked closely with the international students at California State University, Stanislaus.
She is survived by her two step children, James Boyd of Sacramento and Sharon Banks of Scotts Valley; and three step grandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Boyd; one sister and one brother.
A service will be held at a later date at Covenant Village and a private burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento.
