Ajit Singh Randhawa, 68, of Turlock, passed away on Nov. 10 at UC San Francisco hospital after being ill for about a year. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15 at Allen Mortuary, 247 North Broadway, Turlock.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1941, in village Dugga Kalan, Punjab, India, son of Banta Singh Randhawa and Channan Kaur. His mother passed away when he was only 6 years old. He and his brothers were raised mainly by their grandfather. Ajit Singh was married to Darshan Kaur for nearly 40 years and they raised three sons. In 1960, he joined the Indian Army and served in the army for about 12 years. He immigrated to Yuba City in 1977, and lived there until his wife and kids joined him in 1980. He then moved to Turlock in 1983, and worked for Foster Farms for about 20 years until he retired. He loved spending time with his grandkids, Katie, Calvin, Selena, Ruby, Shawn and Cashmere.
Everyone who knew Ajit Singh knew he had a big heart. He was the most kind-hearted, generous and giving person. He was always there to offer help when needed and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He brightened the room with his smile and was devoted to his friends, family and neighbors.
He leaves behind two siblings, Joginder Singh Randhawa and Naginder Singh Randhawa; children, Kuldip, Harbinder and Baljinder; and his daughter-in-laws, Amarjeet, Iqbinder and Gurpreet.
