Vehicle fire erupts in Turlock Walmart parking lot, injuring one
emergency

A vehicle fire erupted on Monday afternoon in the parking lot of the Walmart in Turlock, resulting in serious injuries to a woman who was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The woman managed to escape the vehicle, which was a Buick Aztec, but was reportedly on fire when she emerged. Good Samaritans quickly stepped in to assist her, but it’s unclear what assistance they were able to provide.

Emergency responders from the Turlock Fire Department arrived promptly, deploying Engine 34, Squad 32, and a battalion chief to handle the situation. The blaze was swiftly brought under control and extinguished.

American Medical Response provided initial patient care, and a nearby landing zone was established to transport the woman to UC Davis Medical Center’s burn unit via air ambulance for further treatment. The woman’s injuries were described as serious and “possibly life-threatening,” according to the fire department.

The Turlock Police Department investigated the scene and found no indications of foul play.

The incident is now under investigation by the Stanislaus County Fire Investigation Unit to determine the cause of the fire. Further updates are expected as authorities continue their inquiries.
