Locals at the annual 4th of July parade were treated to a coupon for free mini frozen yogurt on opening day handed out by representatives of the new Yogurt Mill. That opening day is further out than expected, though.
One day before the parade owner Larry Young was notified that there had been structural support issues in the roof of Little Caesar’s which is in the same building as the new Yogurt Mill.
“On our side of the building there was no problem, but they wanted to add an additional beam as a safety precaution,” explained Young.
The new yogurt shop that is joining Geer Gardens was slated to open July 15 but that has now been delayed by three to four weeks Young was told. There are currently three Yogurt Mill locations in operation in Modesto and the Turlock location will be Young’s first venture into a new town.
“We are ready and we’re excited,” said Young of the expansion, though he is still unsure about the exact date.
Roughly 18 employees have been hired to operate the Yogurt Mill in Turlock and that may grow to 22 individuals in the future. The new hires have trained at the Modesto locations and are eager to begin selling frozen yogurt said Young.
“I think we’ve got some amazing yogurt to offer Turlock and we’re always introducing new flavors,” said Young. “Our people are excited to serve Turlock and are passionate to sell frozen yogurt and I think people will taste that.”
