The City of Turlock will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at the Public Safety Facility, 244 N. Broadway. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. with the Presentation of Colors by the Turlock High School NJROTC.

Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Calvary Chapel Pastor Rob Monroe. Commander Bob Boyd will be the guest speaker and Girl Scout Troop #675 will be special guests.

Veterans Day, which was formerly known as Armistice Day, was originally set as a U.S. legal holiday to honor the end of World War I, which officially took place on Nov. 11, 1918. On June 1, 1954, the name was changed to Veterans Day to honor all U.S. veterans.
