According to the American Cancer Society, more than 4 million people across 20 countries gather each year to participate in Relay for Life to raise funds for cancer research and awareness. The Turlock community was no exception this past weekend as more than 700 participants gathered at Pitman High School to walk for a cause in the traditional Relay format: At least one member from the 55 teams was walking at each moment in honor of the chronic fight cancer patients endure. The teamwork and collaboration in the community during the fundraising period and actual event amounted to a significant accomplishment as $160,971.21 was raised for the American Cancer Society to continue its search for a cure.
