After multiple years on a hiatus, Tractor Supply Co. will once again host its nationwide Farmers Market event on Oct. 1. The event aims to support local makers, bakers and farmers in the communities where Tractor Supply operates in.
According to Turlock Assistant Store Manager Jaime Freitas, Tractor Supply first held their Farmers Market campaign in April of 2010. October’s market will be the fourth in the company’s history and their first since 2019.
“We host this event for the local people to bring out their arts and crafts and homegrown goods to sell out here in our parking lot,” Freitas explained. “It can be anything from honey, jam, fruits, vegetables, anything they create. We just want to share to people what is being offered in their own community.”
The Turlock TSC parking lot has seen around 10 to 15 vendors participate in each of the past three events. Considering the event’s absence for nearly three years, Freitas hopes that the upcoming market will be bigger and better than ever.
“We really want to let people know that we’re back doing this and to spread the word,” she said. “It’s free to register because we want as many local vendors signing up to give them an opportunity to share their work.”
Freitas also added that the event will not be limited to vendors based in Turlock.
“They don’t have to be from Turlock,” she said. “We will welcome any vendors from around Stanislaus County. Anybody local who has food, arts and crafts, fruits, vegetables, they can contact me and we’ll love to have you.”
The Oct. 1 TSC Farmers Market will take place for four hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors can register at www.TSCEventPartners.com or by calling Freitas at the Turlock store location at (209) 664-0695. The deadline for vendors to register is Sept. 13.
