‘Tis the season for Toys for Tots, the national program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
This annual campaign collects toys throughout the year, though local establishments officially set up their collection boxes and Christmas trees last week.
In 2022, the Stanislaus County Toys for Tots distributed 23,210 toys to 7,010 children.
“Last year was a great year and we expect 2023 to be even greater,” the organization said.
