Veteran Turlock Police member Jeff Lopes was promoted to the rank of Captain Tuesday afternoon during a ceremony at the War Memorial. Lopes’ career in law enforcement began with the Turlock Police Department and has spanned more than two decades. Over the years he has earned numerous commendations and awards, including being named the Officer of the Year in 2007.
